The inward journey is like a cathedral: wide, vast, and deep, and soaring high above in stained glass panes and flying buttresses. Few images have captured the realm of the heart like the cathedral.

Is the world fundamentally evil or is it good? Christians have long argued for the total depravity of the human condition, but does this mean that the human expressions of art, music, and beauty are evil? Could it be that God created humans and all their creativity as good?

I was called, like Jeremiah, to speak the words of God, and it was a fire in my bones that I could not shut up.

But I couldn’t? Could I? I, a woman, could not speak, preach, or teach the Scriptures to a mixed group of men and women, certainly not from a pulpit on Sunday morning! But… why not?
